Manchester Essex boys hold unbeaten Newburyport to a 0 to 0 tie; girls fall 7 to 0 to the Clippers

The Hornets boys kept Newburyport off the scoreboard on the road. Both Manchester Essex teams play Rockport on Tuesday.

Boys: Manchester Essex 0, Newburyport 0

Manchester Essex went to Newburyport on Thursday, Oct. 1, and kept the unbeaten Clippers off the scoreboard. The Cape Ann League match ended 0 to 0, with no goals in either half, according to MaxPreps.

Newburyport is 6 and 0 with two ties. The Hornets, coming off a 4 to 0 win at Hamilton-Wenham on Tuesday, are 4 and 1 with four ties, and 4 and 1 with three ties in the league.

Manchester Essex plays Rockport on Tuesday, Oct. 6, at 6 p.m., then hosts Amesbury on Thursday, Oct. 8, at 4 p.m.

Girls: Newburyport 7, Manchester Essex 0

Newburyport's girls beat Manchester Essex 7 to 0 in a nonleague match in Manchester on Thursday. The Clippers are 6, 1 and 1. The Hornets fell to 2, 5 and 1 overall and are 2 and 3 in the Cape Ann League. Scorers were not posted.

The Hornets host Rockport on Tuesday, Oct. 6, at 4 p.m. and play at Amesbury on Thursday, Oct. 8, at 4 p.m.
