The town's drinking water reservoirs held at about 58 percent full for the week of October 4 to 10, according to the weekly water table. That is about 7 points below the same week last year. The total ban on outdoor water use remains in place. The state lists the region at a Level 2 Significant Drought.

About 143 people in town were out of work and looking for a job in August, according to new federal estimates. That puts the local unemployment rate at 4.2 percent. The rate is down from 4.9 percent in July and a year earlier.
