Cape Ann Votes 2026
Know Before It's Decided
Election Day, Nov. 3
Start with your town: who votes here, how your neighbors voted this year, and the race for Cape Ann's seat in the State House. Then the statewide races and the nine ballot questions.
The Cape Ann Current does not endorse candidates or ballot questions. Every candidate in a race gets the same questions, and we publish answers as written. Our election standards.

How primary ballots were cast
| Town | Ballots | Dem ballot | GOP ballot | By mail | Early | Election Day |
|---|
Democratic ballots outnumbered registered Democrats by 24% across the district, so many unenrolled voters chose a Democratic ballot.
State Representative, Fifth Essex District
Three candidates for Cape Ann's House seat
All four towns make up the Fifth Essex. The seat has been on the ballot four times this year. Dru Tarr won the March 31 special election and faces the Republican he beat then and an independent from Essex.
