What if prices move?

How we built this comparison. Date: Oct. 13, 2026. Source: Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources weekly heating oil survey, with the U.S. Energy Information Administration's Massachusetts weekly series for last winter. Unit: dollars per gallon, full service price, deliveries of 100 gallons or more, before any cash discount. Why these numbers: the state survey is the only price that covers the whole Commonwealth every week, and it is the number Massachusetts state agencies and departments use. What is missing: no Cape Ann dealer posts a price online, so your local price may be higher or lower than the state average. Gallons per fill are typical values, not your tank gauge. "Last winter's average" is the mean of the weekly state prices from October 2025 through March 2026.
