Gloucester PreK to 8 students get out early Thursday for parent conferences, with a snack style lunch

The district calendar marks Oct. 15 and Oct. 22 as early release days for conferences in the elementary schools and O'Maley. The posted lunch on both days is a sunbutter and jelly sandwich, yogurt, veggie sticks, fruit and Teddy Grahams.

Trust Check: Checked against public records

Students in Gloucester's elementary schools and O'Maley Middle School have early release on Thursday, Oct. 15, for parent and teacher conferences, according to the district calendar. The calendar lists evening conferences that day too. A second conference early release for PreK to grade 8 is set for Thursday, Oct. 22.

The calendar does not list dismissal times. Families should check their school's notice for the time and how to sign up for a conference slot.

What's for lunch on the early release days

The district's posted menus for the elementary schools and O'Maley list the same simple lunch on Oct. 15 and Oct. 22:

  • a sunbutter and jelly sandwich
  • a yogurt cup
  • fresh veggie sticks and fresh fruit
  • Teddy Grahams, with milk

Breakfast is the regular menu. Gloucester High School is not on the conference schedule and lists its usual lunch both days. School meals in Massachusetts are free for every student. Read how Cape Ann's school lunches work.
