With four weeks until Election Day, the Current has launched a free voter guide. Essex voters will cast their ballots at the Public Safety Building at 11 John Wise Avenue. The town has not yet posted its early voting hours. The guide covers the race for the Fifth Essex District House seat, which includes Gil Frieden of Essex. It also breaks down the nine statewide ballot questions.

A new page from the Current lets you compare property taxes across Cape Ann. According to the state, the average single family tax bill in Essex for fiscal 2026 is 11,957 dollars. That is based on an average home value of 916,972 dollars. The average Essex tax bill has risen 46 percent since fiscal 2017.

In town meetings today, the Manchester Essex School Council meets at 3:15 p.m.

Tomorrow evening, The James Pub and Provisions hosts Trivia Night at 6:30 p.m. Also tomorrow, classical guitarist Scott Ouellette performs at the T O H P Burnham Public Library from 7 to 8 p.m.

The National Weather Service expects a sunny Monday with a high near 67 and wind gusts up to 25 miles per hour. A small craft advisory takes effect at 3 p.m. High tides in the Essex River run about 10 to 14 minutes later than Gloucester Harbor, which sees high tides today at 7:08 a.m. and 7:29 p.m.
