Registering to vote

The deadline to register or change your registration is Saturday, Oct. 24. The City Clerk's office will be open until 5 p.m. that day, and online registration through the Secretary of the Commonwealth's website closes at 11:59 p.m.

Voting by mail or absentee

The deadline to request a mail ballot is Tuesday, Oct. 27, at 5 p.m. Voters who will be away or cannot get to the polls for medical or religious reasons can also vote absentee in person at the clerk's office until noon on Monday, Nov. 2.

Completed mail and absentee ballots must reach the clerk's office or the drop box at the Warren Street entrance to City Hall by 8 p.m. on Election Day. Polling places cannot accept them.

This year's ballot comes on two cards. The clerk's office is reminding mail voters to return both cards and to sign the affidavit envelope.
