Senior quarterback Cole Mosley-Wynn accounted for three touchdowns in Gloucester's last game. Tonight he leads the Fishermen into their homecoming game and Northeastern Conference opener against Winthrop, the team that edged Gloucester 7 to 6 last fall. Kickoff is 7 p.m. at Newell Stadium.

Both teams come in at 2 and 1. Brian Anderson coaches Gloucester.

In last Friday's 42 to 7 win at Revere, Mosley-Wynn ran for touchdowns of 4 and 14 yards in the first quarter as Gloucester built a 21 to 0 lead about eight minutes into the game. In the third quarter he threw a 12 yard touchdown pass to senior captain Max Thomas.

Mosley-Wynn, a senior captain, plays both ways for Gloucester, at quarterback and middle linebacker. He made nine tackles against Revere, and the Boston Herald named him one of its high school football stars of the week. He also writes about the team as a sports writer for The Gillnetter, the Gloucester High student newspaper. He is a three-sport athlete who also plays basketball and baseball.

The other senior captains are running back and cornerback Nash Marshall, guard and tight end Thomas, and tackle Kaleb Allen.

Gloucester beat Stoneham 14 to 6 in its opener, lost 20 to 16 at St. Mary's of Lynn and then routed Revere. Through three games the Fishermen have outscored opponents 72 to 33. Against Revere, freshman running back Fode Kaba scored his first touchdown of the season, and senior Nico Alves ran for two scores and made 13 tackles, according to the Herald.

Winthrop opened with a 28 to 18 win at Essex North Shore, lost 42 to 22 at home to Northeast Metro Tech and shut out Pentucket 21 to 0 on the road last week, according to MaxPreps. The Vikings have scored 71 points and allowed 60.

Last year's meeting was played Oct. 31, 2025, in Winthrop, where the Vikings held on for the 7 to 6 conference win.

Salem visits Gloucester next Friday, Oct. 9, at 7 p.m.

How to watch: The game is scheduled to stream on the NFHS Network, which requires a subscription.

Correction, Oct. 2: An earlier version said Fode Kaba's touchdown at Revere came on an 11 yard run. Our source does not make clear who scored on that play, so the yardage has been removed.
