Rockport Select Board to weigh Christmas in Rockport plans and a joint lawyer for Comcast talks Tuesday
The board also interviews a Finance Committee candidate, takes up the Nov. 3 election warrant, votes on four public works contracts and gets a budget and Town Meeting update.
Rockport's Select Board meets Tuesday, Oct. 6, at 6 p.m. on Zoom with a long list of votes, from holiday plans downtown to the November election.

What is up for a vote
- Christmas in Rockport. The board will consider a proposal for the downtown holiday festivities.
- Comcast talks. The board will consider a disclosure from the law firm KP Law for joint representation in Cape Ann cable negotiations with Comcast.
- Election warrant. Approval of the warrant for the Nov. 3 state election.
- Public works contracts. Four on call contracts: construction equipment rental, camera inspection and jet cleaning of pipes, catch basin cleaning, and pipe lining and manhole repair. The board will also consider declaring a 2006 Ford cargo van surplus for scrap.
- Rockport Art Association and Museum. A one day alcohol license request.
- Long Beach. A request to rebuild a retaining wall at 82 Long Beach. On the consent agenda, which is usually approved in one vote: family transfers at 84 and 146 Long Beach and a sale at 63 Long Beach.
- Housing. Acceptance of a donation to the housing trust from the former Rockport Housing Partnership.
Two appointments
The board will interview Margot Hintlian for the Finance Committee and Tom Flaherty for the Rights of Way Committee and consider appointing them.
Budget and Town Meeting
Town officials will give a finance update on the fiscal 2027 operating and capital budgets and grants, and a recap of Town Meeting.
Water committee Wednesday
The town's Ad Hoc Water Committee meets Wednesday, Oct. 7, at 2 p.m. Its agenda includes reconciling the state's and the public works department's drought levels and water use at Granite Pier. Rockport still bans all outdoor water use.
