Sunday, Oct. 11
- Magtoberfest, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Lexington Avenue in Magnolia, Gloucester. Free. The Magnolia Library and Community Center's street festival has food trucks and vendors, live music, classic cars, a beer garden, a kids zone and a makers market.
- Cape Ann Artisans Open Studios, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., artists' studios around Cape Ann. Today is the last day of the fall self-guided tour. The brochure and map are on the Cape Ann Artisans website.
- Art Sale and Open Gallery, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., North Shore Arts Association, 11 Pirates Lane, Gloucester. Free. Part of the Cape Ann Plein Air event.
- The Clay Pigeons, 5:30 p.m., The Rhumb Line, Gloucester.
- At the movies: Cape Ann Community Cinema in Rockport and Gloucester Cinema both have showings all day. See each theater's site for times.
Columbus Day, Monday, Oct. 12
- Bradley Royds and Eric Reardon, 6 p.m., The Rhumb Line, Gloucester.

Getting around: CATA's schedule shows no regular bus service on Columbus Day. Trains still run. Read about free CATA rides through the end of the year.
