Monday is Gloucester's last absentee day

Gloucester voters who will be out of the city on Tuesday, or cannot get to the polls for medical or religious reasons, can vote absentee in person at the City Clerk's office until noon Monday, Nov. 2, the city's notice says.

If you have a mail ballot

Mail ballots that are hand delivered or put in a drop box must reach the clerk by 8 p.m. Tuesday. In Gloucester, the drop box is at the Warren Street entrance to City Hall, and the city says ballots cannot be dropped off at a polling place. In Essex, the drop box is outside the entrance to Town Hall. Gloucester's ballot has two cards; the city reminds voters to return both and sign the envelope.

The deadline to register for this election was Oct. 24.
