Trust Check: Checked against public records
From the Deep, a free arts party across downtown Gloucester, returns Saturday, Nov. 7, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., the city announced.
The Harbortown Cultural District hosts it, with funding from the Massachusetts Cultural Council. The first one, in May, drew more than 500 people to more than 30 free offerings from 45 artists and groups, the city says. This time there are more than 25 offerings at spots around downtown.
Some of what is planned
- Building the Town, a hands on art installation by artist Bruce Orr, all day at the Greater Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center, 24 Harbor Loop.
- Live painting and an art giveaway with Jennifer Loiselle, all day at Revive Wellness, 232 Main St.
- A sea themed sketching contest for children, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at 44 Main St., with prizes.
- A walking tour of the Imagining Gloucester's Future window murals on Main Street, on their final weekend, noon to 1 p.m., starting at Saluti, 272 Main St., led by the city's arts, culture and events coordinator, Miranda Aisling Hynes.
The full lineup is on the Harbortown Cultural District's page.
