- Wreck of the revenue cutter Gallatin on Boo Hoo Ledge (Jan. 6, 1892). The cutter was making for Gloucester Harbor.
- Grounding of the Liberty ship Charles S. Haight on Flat Ground (Overnight April 1 to 2, 1946). Report by the commanding officer of the Coast Guard Gloucester Group.
- Loss of the schooner Joseph F. Allen and her crew of 10 on Western Bank (October 1876). Gloucester schooner in the port's 1882 loss record and the city register.
