Halloween on Cape Ann: Manchester's party and trick or treat, a free Hotel Transylvania matinee in Rockport and a ball at Hammond Castle

Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, and the weather service expects a sunny, cold day near 50 and a clear evening. Here is what is on around Cape Ann today and Sunday. Clocks fall back one hour at 2 a.m. Sunday.

Saturday, Oct. 31

• Manchester Halloween party and trick or treat. The town's party runs from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at Memorial School, with pizza, treats and glow necklaces. Trick or treat in the village is 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., and some village streets close to cars. The Police Department's pumpkin contest is on the Town Common. Town schedule.
• Hotel Transylvania, Rockport. A free family film at the Shalin Liu Performance Center at 11 a.m. Rockport Music.
• Vincent Price premiere, Rockport. Cape Ann Community Cinema shows "Vincent Price: What Keeps Us Alive" at 2 p.m., with Victoria Price in person. Cinema listings.
• Rocky Neck year end show, Gloucester. The art colony members' show at the Cultural Center at Rocky Neck opens at noon. Free.
• Our Goblin King Ball, Gloucester. Hammond Castle Museum's costume ball starts at 7 p.m. Hammond Castle.
• Library programs. Crafts for children at the Rockport Public Library at 10 a.m. and a Lego robotics workshop at the Sawyer Free Library at 10:30 a.m.

Sunday, Nov. 1

• Meet the artist, Rockport. Law Hamilton talks about the "Spirited Seas" show at the Rockport Art Association and Museum at 1 p.m. Art Association.
• Cello recital, Rockport. Santiago Cañón-Valencia plays at the Shalin Liu Performance Center at 3 p.m. Rockport Music.
• Bats, Essex. The Manchester Essex Conservation Trust's annual meeting, with a talk on bats, is at Riversbend Restaurant at 4 p.m. Free. MECT.
• Rocky Neck year end show continues at noon. Free.
