Story: Thursday on Cape Ann: Gloucester budget committee reviews $270,300 in state grants, Manchester finance panel reviews debt before town meeting

What we corrected: An earlier version of this write-up said Gloucester's Budget and Finance Committee moved its Oct. 22 meeting to 3:30 p.m. The revised agenda, like the original, says 5:30 p.m.

  2. Oct. 21, 2026 · Meetings

Story: Gloucester landlords who skip rental registry face court, up to $500 a day

What we corrected: An earlier headline said landlords face $500 a day. The city will ask a court for fines of up to $500 a day; the court decides.

  3. Oct. 21, 2026 · Meetings

Story: Gloucester City Council approves 6 homes on Day Court off Essex Ave

What we corrected: An earlier version suggested Day Court would be wide enough for two cars about 150 feet in. The first 150 feet from Essex Avenue stay 12 feet wide; the road widens to more than 16 feet after that. The fence runs 100 feet.

  4. Oct. 21, 2026 · Meetings

Story: Gloucester health board accepts Kondelin Road blasting study

What we corrected: An earlier headline said Gloucester OKed a blasting study. The Board of Health found that the study meets one condition of its approval; it did not approve any blasting. The story also now reports the full board's Oct. 8 vote.

  5. Oct. 21, 2026 · Harbor and Environment

Story: Gloucester lobstermen can't stack traps on St. Peter's Landing before Nov. 15

What we corrected: An earlier version of this write-up had the Nov. 15 date backward. Nov. 15 is the earliest date lobstermen may put traps up on the pier at St. Peter's Landing, not a deadline to clear them off. It also said the Magnolia Pier gangway was rebuilt; it was repaired.

  6. Oct. 21, 2026 · Meetings

Story: Manchester backs fire engine money, delays senior center vote

What we corrected: An earlier version said the committee backed two of the four money articles; it backed three. It also said vote counts were not announced; the roll call on the school article was 5 to 1.

  7. Oct. 21, 2026 · Schools

Story: Gloucester schools' special ed cushion to hit record low: $348,382

What we corrected: An earlier headline said the reserve had fallen to $348,382. That is the amount expected to carry over into fiscal 2028. The summary also called a new title for an existing coordinator a new assistant director position.

  8. Oct. 21, 2026 · Meetings

Story: Manchester Planning Board chair tells Gordon Woods developer 245 apartments is still far too big

What we corrected: An earlier version said the Planning Board told the developer the plan was too big. That was the chair's view; other members were split. It also gave conflicting acreage for the land Gordon College would keep.

  9. Oct. 16, 2026 · Sports

Story: Scoreboard: Gloucester and Manchester Essex field hockey win on the road, Gloucester boys soccer ties at Tewksbury

What we corrected: An earlier version of this scoreboard gave the Rockport field hockey score as Hamilton-Wenham 4, Rockport 1. The MIAA now lists it as Hamilton-Wenham 4, Rockport 0.

  10. Oct. 12, 2026 · Meetings

Story: Tuesday's public meetings: Gloucester City Council and Licensing Board, Essex selectmen and Finance Committee, Manchester planners

What we corrected: An earlier version of this list gave 7 p.m. for the Essex Finance Committee, from the town calendar. The committee's agenda says it meets at 6 p.m. at Manchester Memorial School to attend the school building community meeting, along with the selectmen.
